Spartan Sprint - 5km and 20 obstacles
The sprint may be the shortest distance race, but it's still a favourite among new and returning racers. It's the perfect distance for those looking to start their Spartan journey. The sprint also allows returning racers a manageable distance to see how far they can push themselves. It delivers 20 obstacles over five kilometres.
Spartan Beast - Half Marathon (21km) and 40 obstacles
This is the most difficult of the three core race types. The Beast will test not only your endurance, perseverance and grit, but also your mind. The 21km-plus Beast packs more than 40 signature Spartan obstacles and your final hurdle to Spartan trifecta glory. It won't be easy, but you can't believe how good the medal feels at the finish line.

Spartan Hurricane Heat
The Hurricane Heat is run as a team, so individual times are not applicable. Getting to the finish line as a team is the only goal as Hurricane staff put teams through a variety of physical and mental tests. Strength, endurance, communication skills and resilience will be tested. The Hurricane events are not races and there is no set route. A reasonable fitness level is recommended before taking on a four-hour Hurricane Heat.
Spartan Kids' Race - four to nine years (2km) and 10 to 14 years (4km)
Spartan Kids' Races are all about getting muddy and having fun. The mission is to inspire kids to get out, be active and enjoy themselves. That's why Spartan Kids' races encourage young Spartans to conquer their goals while having fun in a non-competitive, safe and supportive environment. Kids will run, balance, walk, crawl and climb their way through a fun-filled obstacle course that helps them understand what it's like to be a Spartan.
Parents are encouraged to accompany their little ones on the course to give them a hand when the obstacles get a little tricky.
Spectators are welcome, but for safety and insurance reasons, spectators aren't allowed onto or around the course.
The Spartan courses will be set up at 463 Abercrombie Road.
