Due to bad weather on the Saturday, the Can Assist game was postponed to the following Sunday.
This at first was a little disappointing as we knew the normal crowd wouldn't be there.
The crowd was down, but the generosity certainly wasn't.
OTHER RECENT LETTERS:
The money raised was $18,220. This exceeds last year's efforts and was a surprise to all.
This goes a long way to help our local people suffering cancer and again we truly appreciate Oberon Tigers involving Can Assist as the major recipient.
We would like to thank the business houses. Without their generous support, the auction wouldn't be as successful.
The donations were received from Royal Hotel, Kringle Cottage, CTC Bathurst, Oberon Post Office, Regency Jewellers, Blooming Beautiful, Oberon Engineering, B&R Maher, Barker's Butchery, Sargent's Rural Supplies, Shell Oberon, Oberon Pharmacy, Varlas Automotive, Big W Bathurst, Flair Hair, Country Belle, Long Arm Farm, Prestige Embroidery, Jenny Elliott, Mitre 10, The Laundry Pad, Mawhoods IGA, Rosedale Gifts, Moorhead Engineering, Kate Binder, LJ Hooker, Oberon Smash Repairs, Oberon Vets, Oberon Outdoor and Electrical, Taste of Thai, Big Trout, Rainbow Chinese Restaurant, Oberon Barbers, LTFMX, Bursons Bathurst, Arrows Newsagency, Oberon Industrial and Farming Supplies, Wills Tyres, Highland Motor Inn, Oberon Remedial Massage, Bathurst Strength and Conditioning, Panorama Minimart, Howards Auto Port, Coopers Antiques, Lisa Howell Photography and Sharon Avery.
Oberon Juniors also put hampers together to auction on the night and they were very popular.
There are a lot of people involved behind the scenes that put in a huge effort and Can Assist recognises the work and dedication of these individuals.
The generous support and donations received from everyone involved on the day make it possible for our organisation to exist and to continue the support of those and their families who are affected by cancer.
