Julie Baker made the tree change from hot and sunny Lake Macquarie in July.
"I have been coming to Oberon for the last few years for holidays and I saw the library manager position and I just thought I really like it in Oberon so why not?," she said.
Mrs Baker applied, got the call and told her husband "it looks like we're moving to Oberon".
Since moving from the coast Mrs Baker said she doesn't miss the heat and is enjoying her time in Oberon.
"I've lived in Lake Macquarie all my life so it was a big move but I love the cold weather.
"I'm really happy, it's been great, Oberon is a really lovely town and I'm just happy to be here full time," she said.
She came from working in the library service at Central Coast Council and said it was nice to now be in a smaller branch.
"It's nice to be in a smaller branch, get to know everyone's names and be a bit more hands on," she said.

"I do a bit of everything now like helping people with computers, finding something to read, answering email inquiries and ordering all the new books.
"If anyone wants anything in particular let me know and I will order it in," she said.
Mrs Baker encouraged residents to come in and say hello and said she was happy to help in any way she could.
"If you need a hand or just want to have a chat, come in," she said.
"I look forward to getting to know everyone and provide a really great library space for the people of Oberon."
Under current NSW Government restrictions library users are required to show proof of COVID vaccination before entering the premises.
"That's until December but if you aren't [vaccinated] and you'd like something to read or need something printed give us a call and we'll sort something out," Mrs Baker said.
Oberon Council Library is open Monday to Friday 9.30am-5.30pm and Saturday 9am-1pm.
