Community smoko will be held at 9am, followed by the official ceremony at 10am where Oberon's citizen of the year, young citizen of the year, sportsperson of the year, young sportsperson of the year, sports team of the year, community event of the year, volunteer or volunteer group of the year and environmental champion of the year (new category) will be announced.
Oberon's Australia Day Ambassador this year is Australian water polo player Elysha O'Neill.

O'Neill is an experienced water polo player who plays goalkeeper for the Cronulla Sharks in the National Water Polo League. She has a gold medal from the Junior World Championships and has travelled the world playing in the World League competition.
Oberon RSL Club will hold its annual Aussie Day lawn bowls: teams of four, mufti dress and bare feet.
There will be lots of prizes to win and snacks provided, according to the club.
