Bathurst marketing agency Brijid Media has been given the job to give the Oberon region a new brand design and an unveiling is expected in June.
The decision was made at Oberon Council's meeting on Tuesday on tourism and economic development manager Mathew Webb's recommendation.
Mr Webb's report said the aim is to have a "more integrated and professional visual representation for the Oberon region" as part of the vision council has been developing for Oberon for the next 20 years.
As part of the development of that vision, he said, community members were consulted to seek their views "on what they liked about Oberon, what words best described Oberon and the best things about the region".
"This data has now been analysed and developed to assist in the development of a community brand," he said.

Brijid Media - which was founded in 2015 and has clients in Sydney, among other areas - has been given the job of developing the branding strategy.
"This strategy will translate into a brand position, brand design and style guide that can be adapted by council, community organisations and tourism/economic development associations for usage across town welcome signs, websites, events, heritage buildings, etc," Mr Webb's report said.
"The branding strategy must reflect the Oberon region's character and refreshed vision with clear and adaptable style guide which allows for suitable adaptation across various community and tourism assets."
Mr Webb said Brijid Media has a number of planned activities to engage with councillors and the community as part of the development of the strategy.
"There will be several workshops, with a final presentation at June's ordinary meeting of council," Mr Webb said.
He said a $220,000 grant received by Oberon Council from the Stronger Country Communities fund will go towards the strategy.
