OBERON Council is getting ready to start 1.2 kilometres of upgrade works on Edith Road, from the Ross Street intersection to Edith bridge.

The hours of work will be 7am to 5pm Monday to Friday and 8am to 1pm Saturday.
There will be no roadworks on Sundays and public holidays.
During these times, council says the section between Ross Street and Dudley Street will be closed to traffic. The section between Dudley Street and Edith bridge will remain open to traffic under traffic control conditions.
Detours via Jenolan Street and Albert Street will be in place during these times, according to council.
IN OTHER NEWS AROUND OBERON:
Edith Road will be subject to reduced work zone speed limits during the road upgrade works.
Roadworks are scheduled to start on Monday, April 1 and it is anticipated the roadworks will be completed by Friday, May 17, subject to weather.
Council says staff will make every effort to minimise inconvenience to motorists and residents within the roadwork zone.
