The restrictions apply from today (Thursday, December 13).
Under level one water restrictions for residential gardens, fixed hoses and sprinklers connected to the Oberon reticulated water system are banned between the hours of 8am and 4pm, though there is no restriction on handheld hoses.
Council says more stringent restrictions will be introduced if Oberon Dam falls to a level below 40 per cent capacity. In that case, level two water restrictions will be applied and council says details will be widely advertised.

“The community’s awareness and contribution to water efficiency is acknowledged and consumers are reminded that during dry periods, additional reduction in consumption is required to sustain our water supply,” council general manager Gary Wallace said.
“These restrictions will continue until further advised.”
