A brief storm swept through about 12:30pm on Saturday giving some of the golfers a quick drench. It didn't effect A-Grade winner Kim Rawlings who took the November medal with a solid 68 and the now serial repeat B-Grade winner Gary Richards with the round of the day 66.
Runners up were Ben Turner in A-Grade who also had a 68 (losing on a count back) and Peter Griffiths in B-Grade with a 69.
Nearest the pins went to - 1st - Ian Fowler (43cms), 9th - Hamish Anderson (565cms), 17th - Garry Willis (285cms)
Ball winners were - P. Cummings, A. Barton, S. Webb, S. Mooney, K. Mooney, R. McGrath, L. Medhurst, N. Whalan, M. English, I. Fowler, H. Anderson, and D. Gordon.
Putting comp. winner was Kevin McGrath with 27 putts.
Scratch winners were Rob McGrath with 74 in A-Grade on a count back from Hamish Anderson and Gary Richards with 85 in B-Grade on a count back from Sean Mooney.
Women's Golf - Elizabeth Pollock
The Monthly Medal, the final of the Silver Salver, a Stroke event and the yearly Captain-v-President Match were all held on November 1. The Silver Salver was won by Sue Webb 3 and 2 from Joan Graham and Sue also won the Monthly Medal and the Stroke event with Wilma Artery second and Glennie McGrath third on a countback from Joan Graham The putting was won by Glennie McGrath.
The Captain-v-President match was won by the Captain's team comprising Wilma Artery, Stella McGrath, Elizabeth Pollock, Robyn Slattery and Sue Webb.
On November 20 the ladies will be hosting the Oberon Open, which attracts players from all around the area. This event is kindly sponsored by Elders Emms Mooney and, as they do each year, Saul's Grading will be sponsoring our raffle. We are hoping to see lots of ladies from the surrounding clubs attend.
The 27 hole Foursomes Club Championship will be held on November 15 with Canadian 2 Stroke on the 22nd.
Our Closing Day will be on November 29 and will comprise an 18 hole Stroke and Stableford event and also will be the play off of the Monthly Medal winners during the year.
Friday's 9 hole competition was won by Flo Spence with Elizabeth Pollock second and Katie Graham third.
