Students in KD at Oberon Public School have been exploring the concept that objects can be shared to form equal groups, through the completion of mathematical challenges. Children manipulated a variety of materials and were given opportunities to share their thinking and explain their ideas.
We were lucky enough to have riders from the Tour De Cure organisation visit us. They explained the importance of living a fit, healthy and happy lifestyle. We wish them well on the rest of their journey raising money and awareness for cancer research.
Oberon High School
On Monday 6th November, Oberon High School held an assembly to celebrate the achievements of their students. Prizes were presented to the Billy Cart Cup winners and Positive Behaviour for Learning draw. Student Flag Monitors and Kind Citizens were also recognised with awards.
Students embraced the Halloween spirit as they transformed their classroom into a spooky wonderland. A raffle was organised with thrilling prizes that perfectly matched the Halloween theme.
St Joseph's Catholic School
A lovely celebration for the Sacrament of Confirmation was held on Sunday, October 29. Once again Bishop McKenna expressed his delight in being at Oberon. The newly Confirmed are to be congratulated and thanked for their reverence and sincerity during the mass. A special thank you to Fr Reynold, Mrs Gibbons and Mrs Brown for preparing the students so beautifully for the sacrament.
Year 1 have had a wonderful start to Term 4. All the students have been working hard since the beginning of term in preparation for Year 2.
Last term, we had our Book Week parade, pyjama day, Healthy Harold and the Bathurst Eisteddfod. We were also lucky enough to have a work experience student, Miss Youman, who spent a week in Year 1. The students absolutely loved having her in our classroom.
We are now busy preparing for the end of year concert, which all the students are very excited about.
