Oberon mayor Cr Kathy Sajowitz said the clinic that originally was in place for four days saw just under 600 residents tested.
"After being advised on Monday that a community member had returned a positive COVID test, the drive through clinic has been reactivated. It's currently the only testing facility in Oberon," she said.
Cr Sajowitz said NSW Health were undertaking a risk assessment around the positive case and contract tracing would identify venues of concern.
"We have at this point in time not been advised of outcomes," she said.
She said it was the first positive case for Oberon since the start of the pandemic and understandably the community was feeling anxious.
"...But most are absolutely doing all the right things to keep themselves and their families safe," she said.
"Oberon is a kind, caring community and I have no doubt will offer as much support to any resident unfortunate enough to contract this disease as possible."
Cr Sajowitz said the Oberon community was "punching above its weight" in vaccination stakes.

"Our numbers are good. We have brilliant health professionals in town, the Oberon Medical Centre has been successfully offering AstraZeneca and Pfizer for many weeks and the Oberon Pharmacy now has Moderna available.
"I urge anyone who has not yet been vaccinated to seriously consider it, if there are questions about which vaccine is suitable for your own circumstance, please talk to your doctor, social media and the internet may not be the best source of information," she said.
She encouraged community members to take advantage of the Australia Defence Force walk-up vaccination hub coming to town next week, October 5 and 6 at the Showground.
"It is important that as many people are vaccinated as possible, it is the only way we will get back to life as we want it.
"We have been successful in securing the two day vax hub and AstraZeneca and Pfizer vaccines will be available," she said.
"With a positive case now in Oberon, if residents have been thinking about vaccination then this a very easy option. Bookings will not be necessary."
Ms Sajowitz wanted to thank Oberon Council staff, SES Volunteers and health professionals running the testing clinic.
"Their commitment to the community is very much appreciated by all," she said.
