The girls played first and took on Eglinton Public School. They played extremely well and the game ended in a 3-all draw.
This meant the girls had to go into 10 minutes of extra time and during this time Eglinton scored a goal to make the final score was 4-1.
The girls should be super proud of themselves showing great sportsmanship throughout. Well done girls!
The boys also played against Eglinton Public School. This was also a tough game, with score at fulltime being 4-all.
They also went into 10 minutes of extra time and during extra time Oberon was lucky enough to score two goals to came away with a 6-4 win.
The boys played a wonderful game and are looking forward to round 2. The next round will be played in the coming weeks against the combined Small Schools team.
Well done to the extra boys who came along to cheer on their teammates. These boys unfortunately couldn't play as we had too many reserves but the boys took this news well and showed great sportsmanship.
A big thank you to O'Connell Boss-Walker who was our referee on the day and did a wonderful job.
Also, thank you to the Oberon Soccer Club for their help with flags and nets.
Without volunteers like these awesome people, the games would not have been possible. We really appreciate all of your help.
