The Irishman was cited by the match review officer for the blatant and trip that momentarily forced Kennedy off the field with an ankle injury.
Kennedy was looking to break away from Keane inside 50 in the second quarter of Collingwood's loss to West Coast when the Magpies defender threw out his leg, catching the star Eagle in the ankle.
The incident was assessed as intentional conduct, medium impact and body contact - which draws a one-match suspension.
A one-week suspension would rule Keane out of the Magpies' Anzac Day clash with Essendon.
It compounds Collingwood's woes from the 27-point loss, with Jeremy Howe (hamstring) and Brody Mihocek (shoulder) injured, while Jordan De Goey suffered a concussion.
The Magpies have lost three games on the bounce and sit 1-4.
