"You can get lost in the traditional English-inspired maze, see the croquet lawn, the Hawkins' family chapel, the Chook Hilton, the 80-metre cascade and temple and much more," a spokesperson said.
"Being a cool climate garden, we feature many varieties of deciduous trees which offer an array of autumn colours.
"Mayfield is a large outside space where you, your family and friends can escape and benefit from some tranquillity and beauty, surrounded by nature - all things that are much needed during these unsettling times.
"There is lots of room for many people to wander comfortably, and plenty of little nooks and corners in the garden for families and groups to share a BYO picnic."
The spokesperson said there are a few small rules.
"Please pay with credit card. No reusable coffee cups. And take any food scraps and litter home with you," they said.
"Of course, while Mayfield is open now, circumstances may change at any time, so we suggest you regularly check in with our social media platforms."
Mayfield family chapel has a stunning steel and glass wall looking into the chapel's private garden.
The northern aspect from the top of the hill, the highest point at Mayfield, has breathtaking views down toward the water garden and valley beyond.
The doors along the eastern side have been made from recycled hardwood taken from an old shearing shed on the property.
Locally quarried blue stone has been cut and carefully put into position on external walls by Mayfield's skilled stone masons.
Also open is the 80-metre cascade and temple which was inspired by a key water feature at Chatsworth Estate, UK and the bird aviary, which features a design based on the aviary at Waddesdon Manor, also in the UK.
The Mayfield garden box hedge maze is open during the autumn opening. The maze is 1.4km long and one of the largest of its kind in Australia.
There are enough bricks in the foundation to build two three-bedroom houses, and it extends 1.8m below ground.
Under the top layer of bricks, there are besser blocks which are hollow. These help to support the face brick on top which lines the path and shapes the garden beds but won't sink like standard solid bricks.
The maze is still growing. Its final height will be 1.8m tall.
Mayfield's reception area includes Mayfield Café and retail nursery, both of which are open 363 days of the year (closed December 25-26). There is no fee to enter these areas.
