Area manager Shane Simmons said he is encouraging everyone to attend the opening day and get inspired to get into the gym.
"It is fantastic to see the community's dream for a dedicated fitness centre come to fruition," he said.
"Oberon deserves access to as many health and wellness opportunities as possible and the Y is thrilled to be able to expand the offering at this first-class gym.
"Our goal is for the Oberon Swimming Pool and Fitness Centre to be a community hub with something for everyone.
"A wide range of cardio function and strength equipment is being installed as we speak and we are planning an exciting timetable of fitness classes for all ages and abilities."
The Y says opening day will consist of a day of activities for the community following an official ribbon cutting with government representatives.
Oberon Council estimates 10 full-time equivalent jobs were generated in the economy during the construction phases of the project.
The Oberon Indoor Fitness Centre was jointly funded by the NSW Government's Stronger Country Communities Fund, the Australian Government's Drought Communities Programme and Oberon Council.
Mayor Kathy Sajowitz said the community had identified a fitness centre as an area of need for all age groups.
"I would like to mention Chris Doyle, who was a great motivator and advocate in the early days," she said.
"To see this concept become reality is rewarding and most welcome.
"As a council, we are thankful for the funding allocated from the NSW Government and the Australian Government to enable the project, which will deliver huge community benefit."
The Y says a range of flexible membership options, including direct debit, will be on offer. Visit www.ymcansw.org.au/promotion/fitness-oberon/ to express interest in a membership.
The Y started management of the Oberon Swimming and Fitness Centre in October 2019.
