"We had hoped to stay open and remain a place where people could come and combine some exercise with a bit of nature and tranquility," a spokesperson said.

"However, all of us now agree that the travelling of any distance must be discouraged, along with the potential gathering of multiple people.

"Protecting the health and safety of our visitors and staff has always been our highest priority, and at this moment we are also thinking of our local community who would no doubt prefer to minimise the number of visitors from out of town."

Those with tickets for the Autumn Festival will be contacted by management, the spokesperson said.
