Well above average temperatures are on the way for Thursday with many locations to see the mercury rise to around seven degrees above average.
Areas of smoke haze and raised dust are possible this afternoon and evening, Weatherzone says.
Dubbo will be the hottest place to be with the mercury to soar to 40 degrees, while in Wellington should reach 39 degrees.
It'll be a tad cooler in Forbes, Mudgee and Parkes at 37 degrees; with a top of 36 predicted for Cowra and Oberon.

Bathurst should reach 35, Goulburn and Young 34; Lithgow, Orange and Cootamundra 33 and Harden 31.
A total fire ban has been declared across much of the region due to a severe fire danger risk. The council areas included in the ban are: Blayney, Bathurst, Cabonne, Cowra, Goulburn-Mulwaree, Lithgow, Mid Western, Oberon and Orange.

While there is a very high fire danger, but no total fire ban, in these council areas: Cootamundra, Dubbo, Forbes, Hilltops, Narromine and Parkes.
