THE community is again being invited to have its say as Oberon Council begins the next phase of its branding overhaul.
This time, feedback is being sought on designs for new signs.
Oberon Council gained funding under the NSW Government's Stronger Country Communities Fund to undertake a community branding strategy and new town signage project and the first phase of the project was creating a Community Branding Strategy.

In August 2019, council endorsed the second and final phase of the Community Branding Strategy, which included the adoption of "Oberon - more than you imagine" as the tagline and logo and vision statement within the 2040 Community Strategic Plan.
The branding was developed by Brijid Media and the community after public consultation and feedback.
Council is now planning to upgrade branding signs across the local government area and local sign company Marks Signage has been appointed to develop what is being called the "signage design toolkit". The initial concepts have been developed to provide a broad array of concepts that can be taken to the community for feedback.
Council says the toolkit is intended to use local expertise to incorporate the brand and local attributes into a guide that can be used in the fabrication and installation of new place branding signs.
Marks Signage has developed mock concepts varying in styles, colour and brand usage in order to give a number of design options.
Council, in conjunction with Marks Signage, plans to hold street consultations, workshops and meetings with village and community groups to ensure a broad section of the community are involved.
There are five concepts that can be viewed on Oberon Council's website.
It is considered that developing a town signage toolkit will provide a new look and direction for the Oberon local government area.
The mock signage design concepts will be on public exhibition until Friday, February 7, 2020. They can be viewed at the Oberon Council administration office or downloaded from www.oberon.nsw.gov.au.
