Ninety-two community members enjoyed a great meal, good company and two guest speakers.
The lunch was held as part of Pink Up Oberon week to raise funds for the McGrath Foundation, which provides breast care nurses who support and care for women and men experiencing breast cancer.
The nurses are available to help individuals and their families at no cost and with no doctor referral required.
IN OTHER NEWS AROUND OBERON:
Marita Tipene, a specialist nurse from Daffodil Cottage in Bathurst, was a guest speaker.
The keynote speaker was Winston Terracini, one of Australia's most eminent senior criminal defence barristers, who spends a lot of time at his Oberon farm, is a great supporter of the community and who is described by his friends as a cricket tragic with an encyclopaedic knowledge of Test cricket.
A feature of the event was an auction of two items bearing Sir Donald Bradman's signature, a set of albums covering Sir Donald's life, a cricket bat signed by the NSW Blues cricket team, 2019 Ashes Test clothing and a whole dressed lamb.
The auction raised $1950. Raffles run over three weeks raised $1222 and ticket sales and donations raised $1050.
Mayor Kathy Sajowitz thanked all who generously donated auction items and Brian Harman, who conducted the auction.
The event was fully sponsored by Borg Panels and Oberon Council.
Cr Sajowitz thanked those who ensured the event's success, including Philip Derriman, Bede Sajowitz of Cricket NSW Umpires and Scorers Association, Brian and Racheal Maher, Wayne Barker, Bob and Anne Wilson, Oberon Pharmacy, Monica Vince, Rhonda Boyce, Oberon Pies and Pastries, IGA, Renzaglia Wines, Victoria Theyers, Oberon Golf Club, which she said "went above and beyond", Oberon Council staff and the Oberon community, "whose enthusiasm to support this event has been generous, gratifying and much appreciated".
"This amazing support allows us to forward the total monies raised at the lunch, $4222, to the foundation on behalf of the Oberon community," Cr Sajowitz said.

The Oberon Youth Council and Crissie's Coffee Van provided coffee and barbecue for the more than 200 visitors and buyers.
"It was good to see more than half the books on sale go to good homes; the remainder are heading to Central West Lifeline," Cr Sajowitz said.
"The Oberon Council Community Services staff gave up part of their weekend to organise this event and ensure its success."
