Although neither a botanist nor a Latin scholar, Nancy managed to impart some interesting information to her audience.
With luck, plant labels may now make a bit more sense and actually impart some relevant information when buying.
RECENT GARDEN CLUB NEWS:
There were some lovely OGY entries this month and the competition is getting fiercer as spring arrives and more and more plants come into bloom.
The winner was Robyn Cann with a truly beautiful selection of daffodils.
Hardy brought a spectacular orchid which was much admired. Other entries included camellias and flowering quince.
All entries were worthy of a vote, so who can tell who this year's winner will be!
As the drought drags on and water becomes increasingly scarce, the discussion this time will be ways to conserve water.
Bring along any tips you have and add to the think tank.
After morning tea we will be visiting Bernice Keft's garden at 33 Shakespeare Close.
This month's meeting is this Monday, October 21 at the Uniting Church Hall at 10am.
Don't forget your OGY entry - you should have plenty to choose from in your garden now.
Hope to see you all there, and later at Bernice's garden.
New members are always welcome.
