Bill Wilcox had a good round for 26 points to take the honours. Kim Rawlings won the ball donated by Don Miller for nearest the pin on the 17th hole, although 12 metres is not very close. Balls went to Hugh O'Neil, Doug Collins, Andrew Yeo, Joe Casey. Kevin Hally and Laurie Murphy.
Saturday was a very pleasant spring day: warm, sunny and no wind - what a contrast to last weekend. The monthly medal round was sponsored by Ray White Emms Mooney. Despite the favourable conditions, most of the golfers struggled to register a decent score. There were two exceptions - the winners in A and B grade.
In A grade, Andrew Yeo had a marvellous round of 81/68 to win the monthly medal and scratch ball. Scott Rowlandson was runner-up on 87/73.
Mark Matthews won B grade with a round of 92/67. Robyn was the runner-up with a good round of 62/74. She also won the B grade scratch ball and the B grade putting with 29 putts. Anthony McGrath was the A grade putting winner with 30 putts.
Balls went to Alan Cairney, Ian Fowler, Darren Gordon, Anthony McGrath, Adrian Poulten, Barry Stubbs, Dom York, Paul Behan, Richard Gear and Peter Stewart.
Nearest the pin on the first was Dom York (1.9m) and Richard Gear was closest on the ninth.
Matchplay games need to be played as soon as possible to allow the second round to progress. The fourball match has a little longer to complete their matches.
This week's golf will be a stableford event. On Sunday, a group of our Oberon golfers represented Oberon at the Blackheath Open. On Sunday, September 22, Wentworth Falls have their Open.
Green renovations will be taking place in the last week of September and we will need as much help as we can get. A few hours by as many as possible would be great.
