SOME special books will go on tour around the Oberon district during the upcoming Book Week.

Oberon Library has all shortlisted books and winners from the Children's Book Council of Australia (CBCA) Book of the Year Awards on display and available for loan.

The CBCA awards have six categories: book of the year (older readers), book of the year (younger readers), book of the year (early childhood), picture book of the year, Eve Pownall award and award for new illustrator.

During Book Week, Oberon Library staff will visit Oberon Children's Centre, Black Springs and Hampton public schools to read stories from the award shortlists.

Children visiting the library during Book Week will be able to enjoy a range of activities and puzzles.

A special storytime will be held on Friday, August 23 from 10.30am to 11am.

Oberon Library staff say everyone is welcome.
