TEN women braved the chilly conditions last week to play an 18-hole stableford competition. The winner was Marjorie Webb, on a countback from Yvonne Collins, with Katie Graham coming in third on a countback from Lyn Prowse.

Scores on the day reflected the challenging conditions!
Marjorie was also nearest the pin in Second Division, with no-one making the grade in First Division.
Next week's competition will be an 18-hole par event.
In a bid to encourage new players, Joan Graham will be offering a beginners' golf class, starting in August, for women and men who would like to take up this addictive sport.
Sessions will run for an hour-and-a-half on Monday mornings. If you are curious about the game and would like to give it a try, enrol by ringing 6336 3003.
Golf clubs and balls will be supplied so that interested people have the opportunity to "try before they buy".
