Oberon stabbing: 45-year-old man to appear in Bathurst Local Court

A MAN will appear in Bathurst Local Court today charged with a domestic-related stabbing on Sunday night.

Emergency services were called to a home on Duckmaloi Road, Oberon, about 9pm on Sunday following reports of a stabbing.

Officers attached to Chifley Police District were told the two men, aged 41 and 45, had become involved in a physical altercation, where the younger man sustained a stab wound to his abdomen.

The man was treated at the scene before being taken to Orange Base Hospital in a stable condition.

The 45-year-old man was arrested and taken to Bathurst police station where he was charged with reckless wounding (domestic violence), and two counts of possession or use of a prohibited weapon without permit.

He was bail refused and will appear at Bathurst Local Court today.
