Oberon U3A's term two program offers an interesting mix of courses promoting fitness, general knowledge and entertainment.
There are the usual range of courses which run from one term to the next, but also on the agenda for this term are an afternoon with Harrie Fasher, creating a no-dig garden, organising photos and files on your computer and an armchair travel trip to Western Australia's remote Kimberley coast.
There is also an opportunity to learn about recording our local social history and restoring antique machinery.
Read about these courses and more on the Oberon U3A website. The term two program and newsletter can be found there, as well as information about how to join the organisation.
The University of the Third Age (U3A) is not a university but a worldwide movement that encourages people over 50 to continue to learn new things in a relaxed and friendly environment.
All U3As are volunteer groups run by a committee of local members. The main demographic for U3As is the over 50s.
Membership of Oberon U3A has been set at $20 per year.
This fee is used to cover costs like incorporation, insurance, membership of the NSW U3A network, webpage subscription, venue hire, postage and stationery.
Membership renewals should be paid by the end of January each year.
