The Thursday afternoon competition continues to attract some new faces. It’s a great way to get into the swing of things if you want to try your hand at golf. Winner Andrew Yeo continues to hone his golfing skills, finishing with a round of 29. Kim Rawlings showed he still has some magic in his golf swing, eagling the fifth hole.
Saturday attracted a strong field of 38 players for a stableford round. One of our newest members, Jason Sargent, showed his time away from golf did no harm to his game. His round of 40 points won A grade. Neil Whalan was runner-up with 38 points.
Peter Hutchinson, who continues to improve his game, won B grade with a great round of 41 points. Visitor Keith King had a couple of good local guides to help him and was the runner-up with 39 points. Steve Serong was nearest the pin on the first and Billy Wilcox was closest on the 17th. Balls went to Kevin McGrath, Grant Francis, Dennis O'Connell, Steve Serong, Bill Wilcox, Dylan Kyte and Robert McGrath.
Golf on Saturday is the Big Trout Motor Inn-sponsored Christmas Ambrose. The Big Trout provide wonderful trophies for this event. It’s teams of four (try to include a new golfer in your crew). Just prior to Christmas, a professional golfer is offering his services for lessons. Beginners are welcome. Contact the club, Gareth Samuel or Barry on 0448 099 801.
