Georgie cut and donated her hair to create wigs for children suffering with cancer and other illnesses.
Georgie’s teacher, Mrs Hayden, said Georgie approached her earlier in the year about growing and cutting her hair.
“I think she is very brave and what a wonderful thing for a young girl to do,” she said.

“The school community and her family a very proud of Georgie’s achievement.
“I would like to thank Cindy Ryan, who had her scissors with her on the day, for doing the honours on the day.”
There are several organisations and programs that can turn long locks into free or low-cost wigs for people with cancer. A wig can give self-confidence, strength, and hope to someone struggling with the emotional challenges of hair loss.
More than 300 people took part in the Oberon Relay for Life at the Oberon Recreation Ground, with just under $50,000 was raised.
