To donation concludes Oberon Council’s five-year project to mark the 100-year commemoration of World War One, Oberon Honours the Anzacs.
“Often overshadowed, nurses played a vital role in the war effort overseas and here in Australia once the Anzacs returned home,” Cr Sajowitz said.
A plaque on the chair reads: “To commemorate the contribution of the Australian nursing service personnel who served in the great war 1915 - 1918.”
“It has been a pleasure for me to research and put together a history book of the AANS in the Great War,” Cr Sajowitz said.
“I have included information in relation to support services at home such as the Red Cross, VAT and the families left behind.”
This book was presented to the museum at the official opening for inclusion in its library.
