Despite cold and testing conditions, 146 anglers entered the competition on the day.
The overall winner on the day was Nadia Mesic from Albion Park Rail, south of Wollongong, who travelled to be part of Oberon Outdoor Week.
Nadia recorded the largest redfin (410 millimetres) and also took home one of the major lucky door prizes to complete a very lucky day at Oberon Dam.
Jonathon Cutler from Bathurst also had a successful day out on the dam by taking home the biggest bag and finishing second in the largest fish category.
Many of the local participants also fared well on the day, with many snagging a nice prize in the long list of prizes kindly donated by key sponsors such as Oberon Outdoor and Electronic.
Organisers of the event said they were happy with the response and are eager to make the competition an annual event.
Statistics are still being compiled for the event and Oberon Outdoor Week, although early indications suggest 53 per cent of the participants were tourists who travelled to the region for the event.
The event also raised more than $250 for the McGrath Foundation as part of the Pink Up Oberon initiative.
