Pink Up Your Town is an incredible fundraising activity that calls for an entire town to "pink up" not only to raise funds to support specialist McGrath Breast Care Nurses, but to create a visual show of support for local families experiencing breast cancer.
Council staff members Tamara Greenhalgh, Ivy Jean and Lynette Safranek are inviting businesses to make their shop window pink or turn their event pink as part of the initiative.
Participants will receive a pink bin for donations, a tally sheet and promotional poster.
Each week, staff will collect the funds raised and keep a tally for a bit of healthy competition between shops.

There are several businesses already on board to "Pink Up Oberon".
Sharon and Haley Whittaker from Pick of the Bunch said they will be decorating their window in pink.
"We will be serving pink pancakes and, with every serve, we will donate $1 to the McGrath Foundation,” Sharon Whittaker said.
"We will also have a meal deal - pink pancake, pink gelato and pink milkshake. Ten per cent will be donated.
"There will also be a bin in-store for donations."
Other Oberon businesses committed are Oberon Neighbourhood Centre, The Universal Eatery, Oberon Pharmacy, Enhance Service Station, The Laundry Pad, Foodworks, Forever Bouquets, Rosedale Gifts, DJ's Cafe, Barkers Butchery, Oberon Saddlery and Oberon Craft Shop.
According to the McGrath Foundation, the first town in Australia to turn pink for the foundation was actually Mudgee in the Central West.
We will be serving pink pancakes and, with every serve, we will donate $1 to the McGrath Foundation.
Over the past two years, the passionate Pink Up Mudgee Committee has encouraged more than 280 local businesses and organisations to jump on board to create a month-long calendar of fundraising events during October.
From morning teas and pink menu items at the local café to the Pink Mudgee Ball, the town has collectively raised more than $600,000 to support McGrath Breast Care Nurses, according to the McGrath Foundation.
