JOHN and Lucy East acquired the Malachi Gilmore Hall and are suitably excited to announce a community heritage project - the Malachi Revival.
They have received some funding from the NSW Heritage Council which has enabled them to open the doors of the Malachi Gilmore Hall for a weekend of community events.
On the weekend of October 20 and 21, 2018, they are putting on six events that are based on past activities in the hall. The aim of the weekend is to collect oral and pictorial memories from people in the community who engaged with the hall from 1937 to 1977.
For a change of genre, on the Saturday evening the Brad Child Swingtet will present a night of jazz music.
Come! Wear your best party clothes and swing the night away to the fabulous sounds of a hot swing jazz band playing Miller, Basie, Goodman, Ellington and more. It will be hosted by Mr Darcy Cheesewright.
Dixieland cajun-styled refreshments will be provided for you and the Foyer Bar will be open for service. Dress code is vintage glamour. Hope to see some of you there.
Tickets are on sale and registration for free events is available from the Malachi Gilmore Hall on Saturdays and Sundays from 10am to 3pm or go to themalachirevival.eventbrite.com.au
