They were selected after interviews by a panel of Rotary members which were held in Grenfell on Sunday, July 29.
The National Youth Science Forum is a program supported by Rotary and in 2019 there will be three separate sessions running in either Canberra or Brisbane.
Baily was selected to attend the Brisbane forum from January 9 to 20 and Sancia will attend Canberra between January 16 and 27.
The forum involves lectures, workshops, visiting related laboratories and research facilities, as well as social events and group activities to improve communication and presentation skills.
This will give them the opportunity to gain a broader understanding of the diverse study and career options available in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) and to encourage continued studies in these fields.
NYSF is a very high profile event that gives students an opportunity to experience a world of science not generally available to the public.
It will have an everlasting impact on their educational pathway from this point.
The contacts within the scientific and tertiary education communities will be invaluable and will potentially open doorways in the future.
Baily and Sancia are looking forward to improving their knowledge and having new experiences as well as meeting like-minded young people and broadening their career paths.
The Oberon Youth Council has already begun fundraising to assist with the costs of attending and Oberon Rotary will also provide sponsorship.
