It is great to see the boys out getting their exercise in the brisk, fresh air of Oberon.
Gareth Samuel had a good afternoon with the sticks and, with 32 points for the 12 holes, was too good for the rest of the field. Kevin Hally wasn't too far behind with 31 points. Balls went to Glyn Samuel, Don Miller, Alan Cairney, Joe Casey, Bob Slattery and Andrew Yeo.
A windy Saturday made scoring difficult and there were only a few who played to their handicap.
Kyall Ryan was back for his first game for a few months and found the golf course easier than the footy field. Kyall was one of the two golfers on the day who played to their handicap and won A grade with a good round of 39 points.
Alan Cairney was a distant runner-up with 31 points and I am told he had considerable trouble with the pin position on the first hole.
Bart Fitzpatrick had a good round of 37 points to win B grade, while Andrew Yeo was the runner-up with 35 points.
Andrew had a good partner in Glyn Samuel to win the 4BBB aggregate just ahead of Phil Cordony and Tony Norris.
Keith Prendergast was just a metre away from the pin on the first, Bart Fitzpatrick was closest on the seventh and Gerard Hogan won the ninth.
Balls went to Keith Prendergast, Kevin Hally, Bruce Amery, Mark Clarebrough, Doug Collins, Phil Cordony, Tony Norris, Kyall Ryan, Laurie Murphy, Peter Griffiths, Bart Fitzpatrick and Justin Evans.
Golf this Saturday will be an 18-hole par event.
A group of our members will be travelling to Oatlands golf club this Saturday as part of our buddy club relationship.
Oatlands members will be returning the gesture on Sunday, September 9.
