“Carers are everyday people in our community. They are family members, friends, neighbours and work colleagues,” Member for Bathurst Paul Toole said.
“It is important that we send a strong message to carers in our community that we appreciate all they do.
“I encourage anyone who knows of an exceptional local carer or organisation supporting carers to nominate them for this year’s awards.”
The NSW Carers Awards recognise the contribution of unpaid carers, organisations, employers and carer groups.
“There are close to one million carers across NSW who provide ongoing unpaid support to people who need it because of their disability, chronic illness, mental illness or frail age,” Mr Toole said.
Nominations will close on Friday, August 10. Visit www.careforacarer.nsw.gov.au
