Mikaela Piper’s White Elephant, made from polystyrene cups, received an overwhelming vote for the Rotary Senior People's Choice Award while the Schools People’s Choice, sponsored by Oberon Arts Council, went to Sphinx, a desert scene by Lachlan Pointon made from polystyrene blocks.
Bron Ingersole and others won awards for delicate artwork work using polystyrene beads.
There were 80 entries including those in other media such as fashionable bags made form scraps of fabric, glass jars recycled into water display containers, an egg carton mobile from Mrs Hayden and Mrs Fittler’s St Joseph’s group and many more.
Bullying, No Way, a large pictorial statement made by the Oberon Public School Anti Bullying group, won first in Large Sculpture 2-Dimensional.
The winning entries will go on to the Regional Exhibition in Narromine opening on June 23. FOOLs wish to thank all the sponsors.
