OBERON Recreation Ground is set to become more pleasant as it gets two covered 60-seat, sun-safe grandstands thanks to a recent funding grant of $130,000 from the NSW Government’s Stronger Country Communities Fund.

Member for Bathurst Paul Toole said the covered grandstands had been on the wish-list of the users of the ground for many years.
“We all know the climate in Oberon can be quite harsh, especially in winter when soccer takes centre stage,” he said.
“Covered grandstands will be very much appreciated for all those spectators, not only when it’s freezing cold, but also in summer when temperatures can soar.”
Upgrades to the recreation hub will also make it a more attractive option for larger regional events, he said.
