The committee is bringing together a collection of local health options to help raise awareness and availability for community members of all ages.
The purpose is to broaden the platform for people to build their knowledge, obtain an understanding about themselves, what a healthy lifestyle can look like, how they can achieve it and to help build and nurture a healthy, happy community.
Proceedings will take off at the Oberon Common with a Colour Run from 9.30am.
There will be presentations and demonstrations throughout the day, starting with an everyday anti-bullying seminar by Amy Curran. Ms Curran’s book Bobby The Plain Faced Cattle Dog features a real dog named Bobby, is written for children up to the age of eight and has a strong message about acceptance.
There will also be a natural health seminar presented by Jeremy Brown, a meditation class by Alison Jones, three steps to stress less workshop by Maria McGrath, and dealing with stress by Jesse Middleton from Bathurst Chiropractic Health and Wellness.
There will be demonstrations, stalls and entertainment throughout the day.
Stall gift raffles will include a basket of goodies from Oberon Council, a one-hour breakthrough your emotional block strategy session valued at $297, blood pressure machine from Oberon Pharmacy, $20 voucher from Oberon Men's Shed, 30-minute consultation from Jeremy Brown, and five $150 consultation vouchers from a Bathurst health clinic.
Visit any stall during the day to go into the draw. You must be present to claim your prize.
There will be a feta cheese-making demonstration by Victoria Theyers, gourmet food presentation by Mel Clear of Universal Eatery, Ruella Coffee and tea and cake decorating techniques demonstrated by Diane Bailey.
Pizzas, made by Oberon High School students, will be available throughout the day and from 2pm there will be a grandparents’ afternoon tea sponsored by Oberon Council.
At 4.30pm, internationally known band Arabesk will entertain the crowd with their repertoire of gypsy jazz and funk. Crimson Royale will follow at 6pm.
Organisers encourage the community to bring their picnic and rugs to enjoy the finale with live music.
Funds raised will be used to purchase essential equipment for the residents at Oberon's Columbia Aged Care facility.
