Ray White Emms Mooney ran a raffle from its information tent at the Oberon Show which raised $150.
Following that, another $500 was raised at the Oberon Rodeo, where Ray White Emms Mooney principal Pat Bird climbed aboard a steer to the delight of the crowd.
Mr Bird said he thinks he lasted about three seconds, but spectators said he lasted about one second.
Mr Bird said it was fun and all for a good cause.
Columbia manager Christine Monaghan said some of the money will be spent on an outdoor activity centre for residents and the rest of the money will be spent on piping music through the three levels of the facility.
"Our residents love music and if we could have something throughout the day, it would be wonderful," she said.
"We appreciate this gesture from Ray White Emms Mooney and we thank them for this wonderful donation for our residents."
