Dylan Kevin Boyd, 19 – of Glyndwr Avenue, Oberon – appeared before magistrate Michael Allen in Bathurst Local Court charged with low-range PCA.
Police facts tendered to the court revealed how Boyd lost control of his Toyota LandCruiser on Quambone Road, Coonamble at 12.30am on April 22 this year and hit a tree.
The impact of the crash deployed the car’s airbags.
NSW Ambulance attended and both Boyd and his passenger were taken to Coonamble Hospital for treatment.
A blood sample taken from Boyd revealed he had a blood alcohol reading of 0.052.
References tendered to the court told how Boyd was a member of the Oberon headquarters of the Rural Fire Service and was reliant on his driver's licence to drive to fire calls.
The court also heard of Boyd's remorse for his actions.
Mr Allen convicted Boyd, disqualifying him from driving for a period of three months to date from November 20, 2017. Boyd was also fined $250.
