OBERON U3A finished its fourth term last week. Over this year, 42 member volunteers have donated their time, expertise and services to provide a wide range of interesting and enjoyable activities. These volunteers were thanked at a special afternoon tea at Long Arm Farm just recently.

Some of the highlights of this term were lawn bowls for beginners, a lovely high tea at Buddens at Rockley, a trip to the Japanese Gardens at Cowra, armchair travel with Dr Grace Maano and Graeme and Lyndall Precians, and photo techniques with Paul Ferry.
Ivan Shandanski taught a weekly Latin dance class for much of the last two terms, an activity that participants found challenging and lots of fun.
The bike riding group went to Canberra recently and cycled all the way around Lake Burley Griffin – a distance of over 30 kilometres. Then they fronted up for a second ride around part of the lake the very next morning!
Regular activities that continue to be popular include pilates, balance ’n’ bones, food safari, ukulele, singalong, bridge and aqua aerobics, to mention a few.
We would like to acknowledge and thank Peter Price and Oberon RSL Club, and Oberon Council, for their ongoing support in providing venues for our classes.
Sixty members enjoyed the end-of-year morning tea, sharing a cuppa, viewing works of art and listening to performances by the singing and ukulele groups.
