Cr Sajowitz, who was first elected mayor in July 2015 after the sudden death of former mayor John McMahon, and her deputy were returned to their positions unopposed when the new-look council met last Thursday.
Cr Sajowitz said she wanted to thank the Oberon community for its vote of confidence in her and said she was committed to serving the Oberon community and to work cohesively with former and new councillors.
She received an overwhelming 22 per cent of formal votes at the Oberon Council election, according to figures from the NSW Electoral Commission.
In order, those elected were Cr Sajowitz, Mick McKechnie, Cr Gibbons, Clive McCarthy, Mark Kellam, Andrew McKibbin, Don Capel, Brenda Lyon and Ian Doney.
There are five new faces on council: Cr McKechnie, Cr Kellam, Cr McKibbin, Cr Capel and Cr Lyon.
The public gallery was overflowing last Thursday as councillors took either the oath or affirmation of office at the start of the meeting.
As a result of the recent amendments to the Local Government Act 1993, oaths or affirmations of office must be taken by each councillor at or before the first meeting of the council after being elected.
Cr Doney's motion was carried to thank the Oberon community for its support and for being at the first ordinary meeting.
Councillors were asked to volunteer to represent on section 355 committees.
