From 10am, local firies will be serving delicious pulled pork and pulled beef rolls generously donated by Oberon Farm Meats with bread rolls donated by Oberon Bakehouse.
All money raised will go to the "Firies Climb For MND" research fund at Macquarie University.
They will also be raffling games and software donated by Microsoft Australia.
Oberon Fire and Rescue NSW captain Keven Verhoeven encourages the community to come down on Saturday, have some food, try on some gear and meet the firefighters.
On Saturday, October 14, two Oberon firefighters, Mr Verhoeven and Colleen Walker, will climb the iconic – and imposing – Sydney Tower Eye, along with hundreds of other firefighters, as quickly as possible in full structural firefighting ensemble to raise money and awareness for MND.
Mr Verhoeven said teams of firefighters will race to climb all 1504 stairs (98 floors) of the Sydney Tower Eye, each carrying an additional 20 kilograms of gear.
"It will be a gruelling challenge, however, it is nothing in comparison to the challenge patients with MND face every day," he said.
"It doesn’t matter what you call it, you don’t want it. Normal, healthy, fit people exactly like you get MND.”
