Upcycled? That's the new word for recycled!
This year is designated as the Year of Plastic Bags and Soft Plastic Packaging by Netwaste, which runs the competition, but all and any material you might otherwise throw away can be used to make stunning artworks and functional items.
Winning entries from Oberon's exhibition will be sent on to the Regional Exhibition in Orange running from July 8 to August 5.
At the Regional Exhibition, $900 worth of prizes will be awarded, including an overall Scrap Metal Award from Sims Metal. Our local competition will also offer a Scrap Metal Award.
Entry forms are available from Oberon Library, council offices, at schools, or phone Kathy Sajowitz on 0419 231 525.
Entry forms are to be returned by May 29 in time for the exhibition to be held from Wednesday, June 7 to Saturday, June 10 at St Joseph's School Hall.
