WEDNESDAY started out as a golf day for the very committed. With fog and then rain, in the end, five ladies decided to brave the damp and changeable conditions which turned into bright sunshine!

The small group played a stableford. Flo Spence continued her good form, winning with an excellent 39 points.
Three ladies were well behind Flo with 25 points.
The pink day raffle was drawn, Barbara Coleman winning the big basket of goodies and Glennie McGrath taking home a bottle of wine which was the second prize.
The raffle raised $135 for the Cancer Council of NSW. The ladies will also be giving their competition fees and some other funds to top up their donation.
The ladies sent a Pennants team to Springwood last Monday.
Next Wednesday’s golf will be a stableford with the trophy provided by the club.
Macquarie event
THE local lady golfers did very well in the recent Macquarie Challenge, held over three days in Oberon and Bathurst.
More than 90 players started in Oberon on the Monday in the three-day event.
Robyn Slattery was the winner of the ladies’ NSW Veterans’ Shield with the best two out of three stableford rounds, topping the scores with 77.
Overall runner-up in the ladies’ competition was Robyn Stapleton with a score of 99 in three rounds.
In the Monday competition, Yvonne Collins came in third with 37 points.
First on the Tuesday was Robyn Slattery with 38 points and second in the Tuesday competition was Stella McGrath, also with 38 points.
