With more than 60 entries, the judges, Paul Ferry and Lynne Causer, had some very hard decisions to make.
The landscape section was the one with the largest number of entries, with lots of lovely snow photos submitted.
The winners were: Wendy Stanton in the active section with her photo of footballers; Ben Stanton in the children’s section with a photo of playing in the snow; Rita Campbell in the historical section with her photo of an old cottage in the snow; Diane Cotton in the industry section with her photo of the Borg factory at sunset; and Rita Campbell in the landscape section with her photo of a snowy creek scene at sunset. The winners all receive a $10 Shop Local voucher.
The judges also selected a second place winner in each of the sections.
Second place winners were Greg Patterson in the active section with his photo of a child throwing a snowball; Ben Stanton in the children’s section with a snow scene; Simone Rothery in the historical section for a photo of the remains of an old car; Andrew Rothery in the industry section for a photo of the Borg factory stacks; and Diane Cotton in the landscape section for her panoramic photo of a rural scene in the mist.
The winning photos will be on display at the Visitor Information Centre.
The spring competition is underway, so keep the photos coming. The categories are “our town” and “adventure”.
The prize money has been increased to a $20 Shop Local voucher.
The children’s section has been expanded to include children between the ages of eight and 15.
