Thursday afternoon attracted a good gathering of enthusiasts for the game. Joe Casey was making the most of the good conditions and showed his mates how the game should be played. Balls went to Kim Rawlings, Peter Ryan, Don Miller, Peter Dale and Roger Arrow.
On Saturday a good field of golfers played a three person Ambrose. We had a strong field including a group of visitors and some of our not so regular golfers.
The team of Rob McGrath, Richard Gear and John McKinnon were well clear of the rest of the field to win the event.
The runners up was the team of Paul Behan, Robbie Armstrong and Lloyd Roots. Balls went to Anthony McGrath, Roger Arrow, Bill Grady, Terry Robinson, Scott Rowlandson, Russell King.
Nearest the pin on the first went to Bill Wilcox, Anthony McGrath on the seventh, Terry Robinson on the ninth and Sean Mooney on the 17th.
There are some etiquette protocols that our members should be aware of when they are on the golf course.
The green keeping staff have right of way on the course, please just wait for them to move on and then play your shot.
When golfers finish there round, they should return the carts to the cart shed via the road, not across the fairway.
When playing a round or practising, always take a sand bucket to repair divots and please repair pitch marks on the greens.
Generally, cart drivers are observing the blue lines around the greens, they are there so that we keep the approaches, aprons and surrounds of the greens in good condition.
Golf next week will be an 18 hole Par event. We will be attempting to send players out in groups of three over the next few months, especially those playing later in the day unless you like finishing in the dark.
