OBERON Tigers president Ian Christie-Johnson believes it’s near impossible to play all four of his club’s snow-affected round 13 games against Orange CYMS at Wade Park mid-week, and has called on Group 10 officials to split points for games that haven’t yet been decided.
CYMS made contact with Oberon this week and plan on hosting the Tigers at Wade Park, if all goes to plan, on Wednesday, August 5.
But Christie-Johnson can’t see it working.
“We’d have preferred it if all games were abandoned and the points split down the middle,” he said.
“We’ll be making a few calls this week to sort it out but I can’t see how we could physically get there. The girls wouldn’t start until 6pm.”
By Christie-Johnson’s clock, that would mean premier league would kick-off at 9.45pm, a potential finish nearing 11.30pm.
“We know CYMS want to play,” Christie-Johnson added, the Tigers in the running for the finals of first division only.
“But we’d hoped it’d be abandoned, the points split down the middle and then be done with it, but the Blayney-Cowra game and Hawks having the bye doesn’t allow that.
“We need something sorted sooner rather than later so our boys and girls know if they have to travel.”
Christie-Johnson added the Tigers may forfeit two grades in order to bring a start time for two senior league games forward.
“That’d be unfortunate, but under 18s and the girls may head that way.”
