■ Oberon High School’s next P and C meeting is May 14 at 5pm at the High School.
■ The next meeting of Oberon Can Assist will be Thursday, May 14 at the Oberon RSL Club.
■ The Oberon Hospital Auxiliary’s next meeting is May 15 in the Robey Centre. New members most welcome.
■ Cowra Gem and Collectors Club will be holding their Fair on May 16 and 17. The public will be permitted entry to the event on Saturday from 9.30am and Sunday from 9am at the Cowra Showground Pavilion.
■ Burraga Ag-Bureau will hold its annual yard dog training on Saturday, May 30 in the Francis Pavilion, starting at 9am. It will be run by well-known dog trainer Chris Stapleton. Dogs and their handlers will be trained individually. Cost: $10 per dog. Coffee, steak sandwiches and afternoon tea will be available. The Francis Pavilion is in the showground behind the Burraga village store.
■ Come to the Robey Centre at Oberon Multipurpose Service in North Street on Mondays and Thursdays from 11am to 2pm. Meet new people, light exercises, craft, quizzes and bingo with lots of laughs. We can pick you up and take you home. Cost is $2 and $5 for lunch, tea and coffee as well as morning tea. Please contact Annette Roels on 6336 7200 for more information.
■ Oberon and District Museum, entry via Scotia Avenue, is open every Saturday and Sunday 10.30am to 5pm, or by appointment. Enquiries 6336 1016.
■ Centrelink/Medicare agency - the Neighbourhood Centre at 12 Ross Street is available for all Centrelink, Medicare or any Department of Human Services needs. Call in Wednesday-Friday 9am - 1pm and we can assist you in your enquiries. There is a self-service terminal for you to lodge or enquire on benefits payable and a scanner/fax for documents which need to be sent. Please make use of this free service and save a trip to Bathurst. Contact Sue Fisher-Smith on 6336 0909 for additional information.
