The book was launched at Oberon Golf Club on Friday by Oberon mayor John McMahon.
A highlight of the night was a poetry reading by Brian Beesley.
Following the launch, people enjoyed time chatting over delicious nibbles and a drink in the very pleasant atmosphere of the newly renovated golf club.
The OAC thanked Col Roberts for his work with the final proof and editing of the book before it was printed.
Members of the OAC were also thanked for their tireless work on the book over the past two years. Thanks was also given to people who contributed their family story, including photos and or those who purchased a paver.
Every Paver Tells A Story is now on sale for $10 if you have purchased a paver, or $20 if you do not already have a paver. Copies of the book were also sold during last Friday’s launch.
The Look Out Bullocks About project is also progressing well.
Meetings with Oberon Council general manager Alan Cairney and Mark Taylor have been held, and work will now commence to remove the render and paint a background for the bullocks on the toilet block at the Common.
On the southern wall, Mark Taylor will place the Oberon Timeline, updated to 2014, as it appears on the Memory Walls, the plaque celebrating 150 Years of Oberon Council, as well as images of the Tablelands Way, and past images of Oberon.
Selena Seifert, assisted by members of OAC and the Oberon community, has been busy grouting the bullocks. Work commenced on one of the wagon wheels during a recent Saturday workshop held in the Main Street. Ms Seifert will continue work again this week, and it is hoped the bullocks will be in place on the walls before the end of June.
