At 1.30am on Sunday, February 8, 2026, emergency services responded to reports of a fire at the Forbes Inn Hotel on Rankin Street.

Firefighters were told it was a structural fire and people were trapped in the hotel.
On arrival, Fire and Rescue crews found the second storey ablaze. They were supported by NSW RFS crews from Forbes, Cumbijowa and Yarragong to bring the fire under control.
The building was evacuated, with no injuries reported.
An investigation is underway into the circumstances surrounding the fire.
Local diversions are in place and the community is urged to avoid the area.
