The incident began late Saturday night, around 11.15 pm, when officers from the Chifley Police District attempted to stop a Holden Commodore on Suttor Street, Bathurst.

When the driver allegedly sped away, a pursuit was initiated but quickly terminated due to mounting safety concerns for the community.
However, police did not lose sight of the vehicle.
In a tactical move around 40 kilometres from where the vehicle was initial spotted, officers successfully deployed road spikes at the intersection of Beasley Road and the Mitchell Highway.
Despite the flattened tires, the Commodore continued a short distance before slamming into the rear of an unoccupied truck.
NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the driver at the crash site before she was transported to Orange Hospital.
A crime scene has been established, and investigators are now piecing together the moments leading up to the initial stop attempt.
Local residents with dashcam footage or information are urged to contact Crime Stoppers at 1800 333 000.
